Potatos are extraordinarily useful as a foodstock for humans and as a feedstock for chemistry.
Uses
Primary
- Nutritious, abundant, and easily cultivated Foodstock. Along with dent corn, potatos produce three times the calories per acre, and twice the calories per liter of water of other plants, making them kings of "austere" agriculture
Secondary
- Feedstock for starch and ethanol
- Source of solanidine for production of 16-DPA medicinal synthon
- As a natural source of dilute phosphoric acid, they have excellent electrical potential, making potato batteries more powerful than their citrus cousins which are driven by citric and acetic acids.
