Extraction

Electrolysis of calcium chloride

  1. Produce calcium chloride from calcium ores by combining them with hydrochloric acid
    CaCO3 + 2 HCl CaCl2 + H2O
  2. Electrolyze at 775°C, 100V

From halides

  1. by halide stripping with sodium[1]
