Uses
Primary
Secondary
- As a base for oil paint
Natural occurrence
- Linseed oil does occur naturally
Hazards
- Linseed oil oxidizes in the presence of air. This process is exothermic, and can lead to autocatalysis and thermal runaway: spontaneous combustion is possible if it is thinly spread on a flammable substrate.
