Purification

  1. Dissolve platinum in aqua regia and evaporate
Pt + 4 HNO3 + 6 HCl H2PtCl6 + 4 NO2 + 4 H2O
  1. Precipitate with ammonium chloride as ammonium hexachloroplatinate
  2. Pyrologically reduce to Platinum
