Synthesis

The product is built from butadiene outwards, through 1,6-diaminohexane and then:

  1. React 1,6-diaminohexane with 2-cyanoguanidine to produce hexamethylene - bis cyanoguanidine
  2. React hexamethylene - bis cyanoguanidine with 4-chloroaniline to produce chlorhexidine[1]
