Uses

Primary

  • Important food energy component of many grains, roots, and tubers

Production

Extraction

From potatos

  1. Peel potatos and cut into 3cm cubes
  2. Boil at the lowest possible temperature for half an hour
  3. Press-filter through cloth or paper

From cat tails

  1. Peel cat tail rhizomes and cut into 1.5cm cubes
  2. Boil with some small amount of potassium carbonate for 2 hours
  3. Press-filter through cloth or paper
